City of La Center to Receive $30,000 Award from the National Endowment of the Arts
La Center – The City of La Center is pleased to announce it has been approved by the National
Endowment for the Arts (NEA) for a Grants for Arts Projects award of $30,000.
This grant will support the Visual Arts Projects, particularly, a mural project for the Lewis River Telephone Company building located on 4th Street along with restoration and re-installation of sculptures in Sternwheeler Park.
The City of La Center will partner with the La Center Arts Council, a non-profit organization, to help facilitate these projects. We are committed to giving the community a public space for exploring varied cultural perspectives through visual art and promote La Center as an artistic destination, attracting visitors from all places.
“The NEA is proud to continue our nearly 60 years of supporting the efforts of organizations and artists that help to shape our country’s vibrant arts sector and communities of all types across our nation,” said NEA Chair Maria Rosario Jackson, PhD. “It is inspiring to see the wide range of creative projects taking place, including the City of La Center’s Visual Art Projects.”
